Amanda Buckner

  • Hometown: Poland, ME
  • Record: 9-3-1 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'4"
  • Weight: 135lbs
  • Styles: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Freestyle

"I have a tattoo on my arm that pretty much sums it up for me. It's by Ernest Hemingway, "The world breaks everyone and afterward many are stronger at the broken places.""

Within her first six months on the competitive circuit, Buckner ranked among the top ten female mixed martial artists in her weight class - a record that nearly mirrors her Bodog Fight competitor's, Tara LaRosa.

Buckner starred as point guard on the University of Maine-Farmington's basketball team for 4 years, but the call of more challenging sports was too hard to ignore. Though her training lineage includes Renzo Gracie, Buckner has been trained largely by Jay Jack, her husband and co-owner of the Academy of Mixed Martial Arts. She's fought and won in numerous competitions including the Rocky Mountain Slammer, Ultimate Athlete, Grappler's Quest, and the Extreme Challenge.

She credits her 2003 loss to Laura D'Aguste as her most critical career moment. "I became a completely different fighter after that (mentally more than anything else). I haven't lost since.

Tara LaRosa

  • Hometown: Woodstown NJ
  • Record: 10-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'6"
  • Weight: 135lbs
  • Styles: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Judo

"There's always that person out there that's stronger, faster and has been training harder and longer... and when you meet them in competition they will beat you. I want to be that person."

Tara is one of the world's most accomplished female mixed martial artists, continuously dominating tournaments and competitions throughout the country. In fact, her only possible rival is her Bodog Fight competitor Amanda Buckner.

Tara started off like a lot of promising young female athletes do - in field hockey. She played for seventeen years, even receiving a scholarship to play for the college team. But, in the meantime, she'd become a devout fan of action films and eventually pursed the martial arts. The move paid off; after winning several judo competitions, Tara discovered MMA and began taking lessons under Royce Gracie. Since then, she's become a champion mixed martial artist and a hand-to-hand combat instructor at Fort Bragg. She's an expert submission grappler, Jiu-Jitsu purple belt and Muay Thai and Judo champion, a resume that very closely resembles her Bodog Fight competitor's, Amanda Buckner.

Kyacey Uscola

  • Hometown: Boise, Idaho
  • Record: 10-5-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'1"
  • Weight: 195lbs
  • Styles: Lights Out

"I'm the kind of fighter that lays it on the line every time. When people see my name on the card they know what's coming."

That's all it took for "Ice Cold" Uscola to drop fearless Danny Payne to the mat with a shocking kick to the head at the XFS 1-Xtreme Fight Series in July.

All eyes will be on the upcoming Uscola-Prangley fight, as Uscola aims for another thrilling knockout victory. Still an up-and-comer, Uscola already has an impressive win history, including victories at KOTC Predator, Heavy Hitters and Outlaws this year. In his clash with Steve Ramerez in February, Uscola took him out in 33 seconds.

He may be called "Ice Cold", but Uscola's got a helluva "lights out" style that's heating up the cage and entertaining fight audiences. Don't miss this match.

Trevor Prangley

  • Hometown: Couer d'Alene, Idaho
  • Record: 11-4-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'1"
  • Weight: 185lbs
  • Styles: Wrestling/Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts

"22 years of wrestling and seven years of fight training have finally amounted to something, and all the sweat and blood was worth it."

Trevor Prangley devours life setbacks for breakfast.

Trevor grew up as a South African farmboy, but his interest in the harvest never compared to his love of physically demanding sports. After his father enrolled him in wrestling classes at age 4, Trevor rose to become the National Champion by age 23. His willingness to succeed granted him a strong chance of making the South African Olympic team, but his dream came to an abrupt end when he lost a crippling qualifying match.

But this didn't phase Trevor one bit; instead he went to the US.

By his second year at North Idaho College he had already achieved All-American status twice, but he was stung by tragedy once again when he injured his knee during a match. Although he lost his eligibility, he never lost his will and quickly started training in Jiu-Jitsu to stay in shape.

Nick Agallar

  • Hometown: Racine, WI
  • Record: 20-3-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'8"
  • Weight: 135lbs
  • Styles: Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu

"I got into MMA because of freedom. In all levels of competition which I was involved in (prior to MMA) there was always a limitation or a restriction in what could be done. MMA allowed for a more complete approach to combat which is what I truly enjoy."

Nick Agallar is one of the top lightweight fighters in the world. He has the most favorable (and reliable) wins to losses ratio of any competitor in Bodog Fight. And so he should - not only is he a capable wrestler and Jiu-Jitsu combatant, Nick has also recently returned from a 16-month tour of duty in Iraq.

Nick's interest in fighting began where most does - on the playground. Eventually, he channeled his skills into wrestling and placed as a runner-up in numerous tournaments. All the while, Nick watched as many UFC matches as he could find, eventually concluding that mixed martial arts was in his future. His most publicized fight - against Yves Edwars, a fighting legend - ended in defeat. Keen-eyed fight experts noticed that Nick easily dominated Yves in the first round, prompting them to declare Nick a rising star.

Nardu Kwabena Debrah

  • Hometown: Brooklyn, NY
  • Record: 7-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'11"
  • Weight: 155lbs
  • Styles: Freestyle

"MMA allows for a more complete approach to combat - which is what I truly enjoy."

Nardu Debrah is the perfect physical manifestation of athleticism, diversity, and ingenuity. Though Nardu had long been involved in the martial arts, it wasn't until he discovered MMA that the pieces finally fell together on a competitive level. An extended Jiu-Jitsu training regimen at the hands of Renzo and Rodrigo Gracie gave him the toehold he needed, but continuous education from Sifu Ralph Mitchell (at Universal Defense Systems, a centre that focuses on self-preservation and perfection) instilled in Nardu a true understanding of the Martial Arts. "At UDS, we use no way as our way. When fighting, styles don't exist. We simply adapt to the terrain."

Nardu faces a tough opponent - Nick Agallar (20-3-0) - in his upcoming Bodog Fight bout.

Timothy Wallace Credeur

  • Hometown: Breaux Bridge, LA
  • Record: 6-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'3"
  • Weight: 185lbs
  • Styles: Jiu-Jitsu

"Rodrigo gave me many insights into fighting and life that I will never be able to repay. I will fight under his flag until the day I die."

Tim has been fascinated with the martial arts ever since witnessing Royce Gracie's fights in the original UFC. After training for years, Tim fought on the American Navy's Jiu-Jitsu and Judo teams while secretly engaging in clandestine bullpen fights in Tijuana.

Eventually, Tim sought training from some of the greatest Jiu-Jitsu masters the world has ever known, including the great Rodrigo Medeiros, a Gracie pupil and 5-time Brazilian Champion. After establishing himself, Tim co-founded Revolution Dojo, a training centre that focuses on Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and "Thug-Jitsu", a new fighting style gaining popularity in MMA circles.

Chael Sonnen

  • Hometown: West Linn, OR
  • Record: 16-8-1 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'0"
  • Weight: 135lbs
  • Styles: Vale Tudo, Wrestling preference

"I don't care about the money or the fame - I'm after the accomplishment."

Chael was born in West Linn Oregon to a family already accomplished in the sporting world. His mothing was a 7-time trap shooting champion, and his father, a land developer and plumber, was a celebrated horse breeder. Like many martial artists, Chael started out in competitive wrestling, where he met great success.

Chael's interests eventually led to mixed martial arts and, thereafter, to Team Quest - one of the sport's most accomplished fighting groups. Training with such greats as Matt "The Law" Lindland (previous Olympic silver medalist), Randy "The Natural" Couture (4-time UFC Champion), Pride-Fighting idol "Dangerous" Dan Henderson (20-4-0), and under the tutelage of Robert Follis (Team Quest President and coach) has given Chael the backing to become the world's next MMA phenomenon.

He has never faced his Bodog Fight opponent Timothy Credeur (6-1-0).

Jorge Masvidal

  • Hometown: Miami, FL
  • Record: 8-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'11"
  • Weight: 160lbs
  • Styles: Freestyle

"Fighting is the only gift God gave me."

Masvidal is a born fighter. Raised on the mean streets of Miami, his first training in martial arts came "organically" and without training. Even so, his technique and skill, honed over the years, have all contributed to a surprisingly commendable fight record - one that's top-heavy with TKOs.

Jorge began his fight career in the underground - brutal fiths for hard cash, something most states have outlawed. Eventually, Jorge sought out legitimate training and signed on with Marco and David Avellan at the Freestyle Fighting academy. Since then, Jorge has gone nearly lossless - except for one critical defeat at the hands of Paul Rodriguez, a controversial fight that most spectators insisted should have been awarded to Jorge.

The term Gamebred is one given to a fighting pitbull sired by a champion killer pitbull. And he does the name justice.

Keith Wisniewski

  • Hometown: Portage, IN
  • Record: 24-11-2 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'11"
  • Weight: 170lbs
  • Styles: Vale Tudo

"I intend to push the action and set a pace that will break him mentally."

Keith Wisniewski holds this distinction of being one of the only self-trained fighters that didn't move up through the underground. For a 23-year old, a fight record of 24-11-2 is stunning enough, but, considering 15 of those fights occured prior to his 18th birthday, you could say he's a natural.

Keith grew up watching mixed martial arts tapes with his brother, coach, cornerman, and fellow fighter, Justin Wisniewski. Afterwards, Keith and Justin would retire to the front yard, don the gloves and doff the shirts, and teach one another to fight. That fascination eventually led to the opening of Duneland Vale Todo (a fighting academy co-owned by the Wisniewskis) and to the creation of the Duneland Classic... which draw enthusiasts from around the world.

Keith's Bodog Fight competitor, Jorge Masvidal, recently defeated Justin in a brutal, three-round fight that saw the decision awarded to Jorge.

Mike Patt

  • Hometown: Miamisburgh, OH
  • Record: 11-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'0"
  • Weight: 135lbs
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling

"When I get into the ring, I tell myself I have 15 minutes - and leave nothing behind. Let it all out. No regrets."

Business consultant by day, prizefighter by night, Mike Patt spent his college years studying for an MBA while simultaneously training six-days-a-week in mixed martial arts.

Mike's early years are studded with successes in a variety of strength and team sports: football, wrestling, power-lifting, and rugby. He eventually teamed up with Jorge Gurgel - a renowned Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling instructor.

Since then, Mike has racked up an impressive series of mixed martial arts victories - a high-point being his surprising victory in the 8-man FCC tournament in July 2004. "I came in as an unknown and a dark horse - and walked through the tournament in less than 4 minutes."

Watch Mike's Bodog bout with Kaream Ellington (8-3-0) to see if the streak holds.

Kaream Abdul Ellington

  • Hometown: The Bronx, NY
  • Record: 8-3-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'2"
  • Weight: 205lbs
  • Styles: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Wrestling

"Fighting is a part of life here. Whether you're trained or untrained, here, its survival of the fittest."

Kaream was born and raised in the Bronx. As such, skill at fighting developed naturally alongside his impressions of life in one of America's lowest income-per-capita areas. Those two aspects have fused together, forging a man who's one-part fighting machine, one-part community champion.

Originally trained at Rhino Fight Team, Kaream soon entered the Underground Combat League, a New York City amateur mixed martial arts event. Kaream fought in the UCL for several reasons: pro fighting is still illegal in New York; he wanted to bring attention to the talent present in the area; and because fighting gave him a opportunity to rise above adversity and to give the community a role-model to respect.

Nick Thompson

  • Hometown: Eagan, MN
  • Record: 28-9-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'1"
  • Weight: 185lbs
  • Styles: Freestyle, Striking preference

"I want to be UFC champion or equivalent - as long as I am number one. I'll get there by out-training my competition... and I'll move up the ranks one guy at a time."

Nick "The Goat" Thompson has more professional fight experience than any single other competitor on the Bodog Fight roster. In fact, he's fought nothing but professional matches ever since he signed on at Dave Strasser's Fight Academy and, later, at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy where he's trained with such greats as Sean Sherk (30-2-1) and Nat McIntyre (current IKF and WKA USA Muay Thai Champion). He's coached by Greg Nelson, a renowned MMA fighter (24-8-4) and tactical trainer to the American military.

During his early training, Nick tended to faint when hit in the chin - a behavior that mimicked a condition common in goats. His training has since eliminated that tendency, though the nickname stuck.

Davion Peterson

  • Hometown: Poland, ME
  • Record: 10-3-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'10"
  • Weight: 185lbs
  • Styles: Ground & Pound

"I fight for me and I want to take this all the way to championship status."

Davion Peterson epitomizes the concept of a modern day gladiator.

Davion started his career on the wrestling mat in East Chicago, Indiana. He completed a stellar collegiate career where he was crowned a two-time Big-Ten champion at Purdue University.

When his collegiate wrestling career ended, Davion's competitive nature only grew, but instead of taking the natural route of becoming an amateur fighter, he stepped right into the pro ranks without any experience. He won his inaugural match in 2003 by knocking out Marcel Ferreira in the Hook N Shoot: Boot Camp 1.1. Davion has used his ground and pound fighting style to compile an impressive 10-3 record.

Mario "The Big Hurt" Rinaldi

  • Hometown: Port St. Lucie, FL
  • Record: 3-0-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 5'11"
  • Weight: 280lbs
  • Styles: Wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo

"[Experience] can take you just so far. There comes a time when heart and determination and work ethic sets you apart."

Mario "The Big Hurt" Rinaldi has gained fan-support and a reputation for "explosiveness" thanks to a mix of in-the-ring prowess and an entertaining style. In a previous match with Eric Swiger, Rinaldi celebrated his victory with a back-flip that has since become legend.

Born in Georgia, Rinaldi quickly got involved in high school wrestling. He rose rapidly through his final year's championship, only to be defeated in a semi-final match that would haunt him for years. Despite the loss, Rinaldi had become a favorite topic in the local newspapers while simultaneously proving himself in the ring (a 20-9-0 wrestling record). As such, Delaware State University offered him a wrestling scholarship. He rose to the challenge, proved himself a capable combatant once more, and eventually migrated into mixed martial arts.

Rinaldi recently won the AFC Heavyweight championship belt, establishing him as a fighter worth watching.

Mark Burch

  • Hometown: Portage, IN
  • Record: 7-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
  • Height: 6'4"
  • Weight: 270lbs
  • Styles: Wrestling, Striking, Submission Wrestling

"I'm not out here to pass the time. I'm serious-minded about this."

Hard-working, hard-fighting, and hard-living - Mark Burch is the natural product of a blue-collar upbringing on the wrong side of the tracks.

Rather than waste lessons learned in the backalleys and playgrounds of his youth, Mark began honing his boxing and wrestling skills through various organizations and on the high school wrestling team. Eventually, Mark enhanced his combat skills at Duneland Vale Tudo, a martial arts academy specializing in Thai boxing, submission grappling, and Jiu-Jitsu. He regularly spars with boxers from Chicago, wrestles with athletes from Purdue, and has kickboxed against multi-World-Titlist Neil Singelton.

Since getting involved in MMA, Mark has remained largely unbeaten. Such a record affords Mark a variety of thrilling victories, though his favorite is the defeat of Adam Maciejewski, a Polish Olympic wrestler and two-time national champion.
