Strikeforce Amateur Bouts

February 23rd, 2008

Three “amateur” bouts followed the main card at Bodog Fight Presents Strikeforce at the Dome. Here’s a summary of what happened.

Demico Rogers put on a show worthy of the regular card as he knocked Jim Holloway around the cage like a large, flesh-coloured exercise ball. Demico took it by TKO in round one.

Clint Cezock dropped after receiving a brutal knee to the face from Iro Evansen, resulting in a nice KO victory at 1:25 in the first round.

Steve Hadsell, the apparent fan-favourite, dominated Dustin Blankenship via TKO at 2:11 in the first round.

[edit: I fixed the spellings of these fighters’ names on Feb 26 after I got an email from Demico.]

Best fight of the night I think was Demico Rogers Vs Jim Halloway by far!! More Hits More action!! Kept every one in the fight the entire time. No wrestling around or any boring effortless attempts to submit, just good old fashion a$$ whoopin!!

  2. Casey "BIGG CA$E" Holme

By far the best overall fight at the T-dome Saturday night, sign Demico up to a contract, he definately made up for the weak showing by Bob Sapp.

  3. Jim Fisher

I totally agree with the previous 2 dudes. Someone needs to sign this guy and get him in some legitimate fights. He pummeled that kid in what, 2 minutes? Stupid! Totally made up for the weak showing from the Maurice and Sapp fights, too bad the crowd bailed right when it got good!

Looks like Demico is making a name for himself! His show was good enough to be in the pro fights! Hope to see him at another event. He has great talent and deserves all the props he is getting! Sure was better than the Sapp disappointment!

Demico Rogers put on the best show of the night, by far. Almost every fight prior to his went all 3 rounds and bored me to the point that I found myself more interested in the standing in line for 20 minutes to get a beer… Gotta give it up to Demico, it was a hell of a show! I still have no voice from yelling the whole time…

Demico - Halloway fight was a great battle. that was halloways first fight - he is a tough kid and demico should go pro!

  7. C@RK

Halloway did put up a good fight but is no match for Demico.

  8. T2damafuginix

Rogers is a BEAST! I can see why Mike Hayes is so scared of him.

  9. 300Haze

Scared? You’ve gotta b kidding! Soon as he goes pro, I’m right here waiting for him.

  10. JNM

Night train Vs 300 would be a big show and a big battle!

  14. C@RK

I agree with Cadillac, Hayes is a tough fighter!!

  15. leroy

hayes scared??? u r a FOOL and dont know sh*t about the sport!!! they are both great fighters and great people but i have to give it to hayes for going for his dream and i think it would take a whole lot for someone to come and just take it!! The thing about hayes is that he doesnt need to talk trash about anybody he has respect for anyone who has the BALLS to get into the ring! and i know for a fact that he has respect for night train but he is for sure a 100% not scared! hayes is a scary MO FO!!!!!!!!!!!!
