Bodog Fight: Episode 3

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Hey guys. Make sure to check back here tomorrow night for episode 3, featuring a Heavyweight battle (Evensen vs Constant) and a 170lb match (Haigh vs Wada). Both are fun, but I really enjoyed Haigh-Wada. Really fast with some wild moves.

Here’s a couple pics we snapped as the fighters were leaving the ring.

By the way, here is the actual card that will be shown on television:

Alex Owen v Brad Pickett
Ross Pointon v Abdul Mohamed
Murilo ‘Ninja’ Rua v Alex Reid

Ivan Serati v Vitor Belfort
Gary Turner v David ‘Tank’ Abbott

Figured you should know. Make sure to watch this wicked event on Saturday at 9 EST on ION.

Inaccurate Cage Rage Video

Friday, April 20th, 2007

We had this Cage Rage video made specifically to put on the blog - and then Bob Sapp dropped from the card. So it’s not really correct, but still very cool.

Bodog Fight Airs Cage Rage on ION

Thursday, April 19th, 2007

I’ve just been informed that we’ve struck a deal with ION and the UK Cage Rage Championships. Bodog Fight will broadcast Cage Rage 21 on April 28th at 9pm-11pm EST - directly prior to the repeat of Bodog Fight: Costa Rica Combat episode 2.

Bodog Fight: Cage Rage Sponsorship

This will be the first time the vaunted Cage Rage has been shown in the United States. Here’s a preview of the card:

Tank Abbot VS Gary Turner

Vitor Belfort VS Ivan Serati

Murilo “Ninja” Rua VS Alex Reid

Cyborg VS James Zikic

There’s no extra charge to watch this - just three straight hours of free fights (if you watch episode 2 immediately after). So no good reason to miss this, really.

Now I know I’ve been going on and on about how much cooler the ring is than the cage, but I was specifically referring to a North American ring. British cages kick ass on our cages. Furthermore, here’s a quote from Miguel Ituratte, our infamous matchmaker:

“Our bodogFIGHT TV show is in a ring, and we love the ring as a format for bodogFIGHT and fighting in general. MMA does happen in a cage, and we see that as having essential differences from a ring and that must be respected. We are supporting cage shows throughout the world as we find likeminded organizations that want to grow the sport. “
